Why was it called “Campus Court Moms?”
A question that only the Holy Spirit could answer. Never thinking about it, it just came to be the name. Upon quickly replying with only the Holy Spirit speed, “A mom is a woman that gives from the heart for the sake of others and asks nothing in return.” From a few sisters that believed in the project to a supportive State Board to gracious, selfless CDA sisters the project has reached a milestone and continues to grow. The wish is that it could be shared with everyone in person to feel the passion.
What are we being called to do?
We, as adult court members, are supporting our college young ladies prayerfully and with small gifts of appreciation. We are making them aware that there are adult courts to join after graduation. The Campus Courts, #2591 Court Our Lady of Grace, Briar Cliff University, Sioux City and #2711 Court St. Therese of Lisieux, Iowa State University, Ames are following in big footsteps. We are their mentors and role models for the oldest, largest women’s organization sharing our Catholic faith. We have gifted the girls with a CDA t-shirt, Immediate Past National Regent Sherry Nilles’ design, “Let all you do be done with love” 1 Corinthians 16.14. Giving them CDA pins, graduation cords, and supporting their courts is on the agenda.
What is happening NOW?
With the end of the college semester, Finals’ Week approaching, the Campus Court Moms will be offering a Mass/Blessing on each campus before the exams begin, see the “Important Dates Calendar”. All are welcome and after Mass there will be a brief reception of hot chocolate/cookies. Please contact State Regent Suzanne Torrey if you are interested in helping and join us for Mass if possible. YES, you can still get on board with your $20.00 donation. Please send your donation to State Regent Suzanne Torrey. See the Voice Leadership page for the address.
What do the Campus Court young ladies want from us?
Prayers. Most importantly they are appreciative of our prayers. We are Prayer Warriors, and they know it. With two campus courts in Iowa, we are leading the nation. There are other colleges that the State Board has talked about, but at this time someone is needed to help get them going. If the Holy Spirit is moving you this way, or you live close to a college, let one of the state officers know and we will help give you direction. If you joined Campus Court Moms, donated your $20.00, then you will receive a heart shaped pin promoting Campus Court Moms. If you recently joined, another order has been placed and your name is on the list to receive a pin. All Campus Court Moms’ names will be posted at the State Convention in Ames. The list continues to grow so it is constantly being updated. There are many courts that have not been reached personally only through The VOICE or attendance at the fall workshops, consider yourself invited. An update will be given at the State convention, so don’t miss the convention! Wear your Campus Court Mom pin proudly along with your CDA shirt.
